ABSTRACT

PURPOSE

This paper explores the integration of biometric systems in engineering education, examining their effects on learning outcomes and pedagogical practices. It provides a synthesized understanding of how technologies such as fingerprint recognition and physiological monitoring can enhance authentication, engagement tracking, and personalized instruction.

DESIGN / METHODOLOGY / APPROACH

A systematic literature review methodology is employed, analyzing peer-reviewed research articles and conference papers. Both qualitative and quantitative studies are included to offer a comprehensive view of technological, educational, and ethical dimensions.

FINDINGS

Key findings highlight that biometric systems improve secure access and identity verification, support real-time engagement monitoring, and enable adaptive learning pathways.
